Catskill Aqueduct Trek 2011 Ashokan Reservoir to NYC
From August 19 through August 27, a group of 15 boy scouts (ages 10-14) from West Shokan Troop 163 ��� along with their scoutmasters ��� are planning to hike from the Ashokan Reservoir in Ulster County to the Central Park Reservoir in NYC. The trek commemorates the 100th anniversary of West Shokan Troop 163 which was formed by the engineers who built the Ashokan Reservoir.

Plan a Trip to the New York City Watershed at the Queens Museum of Art
After more than 70 years out of the public eye, this sculptured scale-model of New York City's Water Supply System comes back to the Queens Museum of Art. The 540 square-foot model represents the living, working landscape of the watersheds that supply New York with one billion gallons of drinking water each day.

Watershed Forestry Bus Tour Program
Funding is now available for schools and other education organizations to take students and teachers to the New York City Watersheds to learn about the New York City water supply system. Application deadline is January 15, 2012.

Watershed Education Programs and Projects
Proposals due February 1, 2012. Funding is available for education projects and programs to help students and teachers increase awareness of the human and natural history of the New York City Watersheds located west of the Hudson River, understand the history and present-day New York City water supply system and the importance of stewardship activities.
