In an effort to bring the global water crisis home to New Yorkers, the Department of Environmental Protection joined hundreds of young people and their families in the NYC Tap Project Water Walk on March 15th at Riverside Park in Manhattan. The Tap Project Water Walk is an initiative where New Yorkers walk one mile carrying containers of water in a gesture of solidarity with those in the developing world who must collect and carry water on a daily basis.
