Prevailing Wage for Hurricane Relief Workers

Mayor Bloomberg calls on the federal government to pay Gulf Coast relief workers the region's prevailing wage at a news conference at the Building and Construction Trades Council of Greater New York headquarters. Mayor Bloomberg wrote a letter to the President urging him to rescind his suspension of the Davis-Bacon Act. Ground Zero relief workers were paid a prevailing wage, and the site was cleaned-up ahead of schedule and under budget.
