Greets Employees at the Marriot Hotel

Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg greets employees at the Marriot Marquis Hotel in Times Square. Because of the RNC Convention is being held in New York City, hotels have a 13% higher occupancy rates, an additional $40 million in revenue and support for almost 600 jobs during what would normally be a slow, late-summer week. In fact, 15,000 of NYC’s 71,000 hotel rooms have been booked by the Republican delegation. In addition, the Convention will produce an estimated economic impact of more than $265 million and create more than 2,100 jobs in New York City.
