Chester Court Historic District Designated
On December 16th, the Landmarks Preservation Commission unanimously approved the designation of the Tudor Revival-style Chester Court Historic District in Brooklyn. Read more


Central Ridgewood Historic District Designated
The Landmarks Preservation Commission today unanimously approved the designation of the 990-building Central Ridgewood Historic District in Queens. Read more


LPC approves Landmark status for Hawthorne Court Apartments
The New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission today voted unanimously to designate the Hawthorne Court Apartments, located at the corner of 216th Street and 43rd Avenue in Bayside, Queens, as a New York City Landmark. Read more


Statement from Chair Meenakshi Srinivasan Regarding Proposal to Address Agency Backlog
Agency will take additional time to consider its proposal to issue "no action" letters to items that have been on LPC's calendar for five years or more with no action taken by the Commission.  Read more


Doering-Bohack House Landmarked
On September 30th, the Commission voted unanimously to designate the Doering-Bohack House at 1090 Greene Avenue in Brooklyn as a New York City Landmark. Read more

 

Pending Historic Districts
LPC has either calendared or held public hearings on proposals to designate nine historic districts or historic district extensions that encompass thousands of architecturally and historically significant buildings in all five boroughs. Read more

LPC has launched a new manual to help property owners file applications with the correct materials, enabling our staff to review proposals more expeditiously and issue permits with fewer delays. Read more


Put Your Project on the FasTrack!
Get permits for certain types of work faster by using our FasTrack Service, through which your project can be approved within 10 days if your application includes the required documents and materials and there are no outstanding LPC violations on your building. Read more
