The times listed for closures for street fairs are for the actual times of the street fairs themselves. The streets may be closed for longer to allow for set-up and breakdown. Street fair organizers are generally permitted to begin set-up at 8 am and breakdown must be completed by 7 pm.

Manhattan

West 12th Street between West 4th Street and Greenwich Avenue

This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm to facilitate crane operation.

West 12th Street between Greenwich Street and Hudson Street

This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm to facilitate crane operation.

West 15th Street between 9th Avenue and 8th Avenue

This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 9 pm to facilitate crane operation.

West 15th Street between 9th Avenue and 10th Avenue

This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm to facilitate crane operation.

West 177th Street between Broadway and Wadsworth Avenue

Leonard Street between Hudson Street and Varick Street

This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm to facilitate crane operation.

Mercer Street between Broome Street and Spring Street

Orchard Street between Stanton Street and East Houston Street

This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm to facilitate crane operation.

Washington Place between Washington Square East and Green Street

This street will be closed 7 am to 6 pm Saturday and Sunday to facilitate crane operation.

Jersey Street between Lafayette Street and Mulberry Street

This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm to facilitate crane operation.

Franklin Place between Franklin Street and White Street

This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm to facilitate crane operation.

Franklin Street between Church Street and Broadway

This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm to facilitate crane operation.

Northbound 9A/12th Avenue between West 49th Street to West 54th Street

Two of four northbound lanes will be closed from 11 pm Friday to 5 am Monday to facilitate roadway repaving.

Festivals, Parades and Events

Stone Street Pedestrian Mall

The following streets will be closed daily from March 15th through November 30th from 10 am to 10 pm for the Stone Street Pedestrian Mall as permitted by the Mayor���s Street Activity Permit Office (SAPO).

  • Stone Street between Hanover Square and Broad Street
  • Mill Lane between Stone Street and South William Street

Manhattan/Brooklyn

Brooklyn Bridge

Due to the Brooklyn Bridge Ramps Rehabilitation Project, several lane closures may affect motorists travelling between Manhattan and Brooklyn. Local streets may experience single lane closures as needed and Manhattan-bound lane closures continue overnight throughout the duration of the project. Any other closures, including Manhattan-bound closures that extend into daytime hours during selected weekends, will be highlighted below. Brooklyn-bound traffic will be maintained throughout the project as will the span���s pedestrian and cycling path. During Manhattan-bound closures, motorists will be detoured to the nearby Manhattan Bridge or may choose other crossings.

Unless otherwise notified of specific occurrences, nighttime closures are as follows:

Overnight Detours for Manhattan-Bound Traffic
Monday - Thursday nights: 11 pm* to 6 am
Saturday 12:01 am* to 7 am
Sunday 12:01 am to 9 am

* To allow traffic to clear before the reversal begins, the eastbound BQE exit onto the bridge closes 30 minutes earlier and other Brooklyn ramps onto the bridge shut down 5-15 minutes earlier.

Williamsburg Bridge Outbound/Eastbound

One of four lanes of the outbound roadway will be closed Saturday from 6 am to 2 pm to facilitate NYCDOT bridge repairs.

Brooklyn

Gowanus Expressway inbound/northbound at on ramp from Prospect Expressway

Two lanes of traffic will be maintained inbound/northbound from 11 pm Friday to 9 pm Sunday to facilitate NYSDOT roadway deck repair work.

Prospect Street between Adam Street and Pearl Street

This street will be closed 12:01 am to 9 am Sunday to facilitate crane operation.

Pearl Street between Prospect Street and Sands Street

This street will be closed 12:01 am to 9 am Sunday to facilitate crane operation.

Third Street Bridge over Gownaus Canal

One lane will be closed 7 am to 12 pm Noon Saturday and Sunday to facilitate NYCDOT bridge maintenance work.

Union Street Bridge over Gownaus Canal

One lane will be closed 12 pm Noon to 5 pm Saturday and Sunday to facilitate NYCDOT bridge maintenance work.

Schermerhorn Street between Nevins Street and Flatbush Avenue/Third Avenue

This street will be closed from 12:01 am Saturday through 11:59 pm Sunday to facilitate crane operation.

Brooklyn/Queens

Grand Street Bridge over Newtown Creek

This bridge will be closed Saturday from 7 am to 1 pm to facilitate NYCDOT bridge repairs.

Bronx

East 166th Street between Trinity Avenue and Jackson Avenue

This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm to facilitate crane operation.

Staten Island/New Jersey Crossings

Bayonne Bridge

One of two lanes in each direction is open to traffic for PANY/NJ long term navigational clearance project. No oversized or overnight vehicles are permitted. Overnight Bridge closures started January 8th and continue through the duration of the project. The closures are: Monday through Thursday from 9 pm to 5 am and Friday midnight to 8 am Saturday. No weekend closures on Saturday and Sunday and holiday weekends. During closures, motorists should use the Goethals Bridge as an alternate.
