The times listed for closures for street fairs are for the actual times of the street fairs themselves. The streets may be closed for longer to allow for set-up and breakdown. Street fair organizers are generally permitted to begin set-up at 8 am and breakdown must be completed by 7 pm.

Manhattan

East 15th Street between 5th Avenue and Union Square West

This street will be closed from 8 am to 6 pm on Saturday and/or Sunday to facilitate crane operation.

FDR Service Road between East 25th Street and East 23rd Street

This street will be closed from 12:01 am to 6 am to facilitate Con Edison utility work.

West 29th Street between 9th Avenue and 10th Avenue

This street will be closed from 8 am to 6 pm on Saturday and/or Sunday to facilitate crane operation.

West 29th Street between 10th Avenue and 11th Avenue

This street will be closed from 6 am to 9 pm on Saturday and/or Sunday to facilitate crane operation.

West 38th Street between 6th Avenue and 5th Avenue

This street will be closed from 8 am to 6 pm on Saturday and/or Sunday to facilitate crane operation.

East 65th Street between Park Avenue and Lexington Avenue

This street will be closed from 9 am to 7 pm on Saturday and/or Sunday to facilitate crane operation.

East 85th Street between Lexington Avenue and Park Avenue

This street will be closed from 8 am to 4 pm on Saturday to facilitate crane operation.

West 127th Street between Lenox Avenue and 5th Avenue

This street will be closed from 8 am to 5 pm on Saturday to facilitate crane operation.

Festivals, Parades and Events

Stone Street Pedestrian Mall

The following streets will be closed daily from March 15th through November 30th from 10 am to 10 pm for the Stone Street Pedestrian Mall as permitted by the Mayor's Street Activity Permit Office (SAPO).

  • Stone Street between Hanover Square and Broad Street
  • Mill Lane between Stone Street and South William Street

Downtown Independent Democrats Festival

The following streets will be closed on Sunday from noon to 6 pm for the Downtown Independent Democrats Festival as permitted by the Mayor's Street Activity Permit Office (SAPO).

  • Lafayette Street between Canal Street and Leonard Street

Easter Sunday Mass

The following streets will be closed on Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm for the Easter Sunday Mass as permitted by the Mayor's Street Activity Permit Office (SAPO).

  • 5th Avenue between 47th Street and 57th Street

Manhattan/Brooklyn

Brooklyn Bridge

Due to the Brooklyn Bridge Ramps Rehabilitation Project, several lane closures may affect motorists travelling between Manhattan and Brooklyn. Local streets may experience single lane closures as needed and Manhattan-bound lane closures continue overnight throughout the duration of the project. Any other closures, including Manhattan-bound closures that extend into daytime hours during selected weekends, will be highlighted below. Brooklyn-bound traffic will be maintained throughout the project as will the span's pedestrian and cycling path. During Manhattan-bound closures, motorists will be detoured to the nearby Manhattan Bridge or may choose other crossings.

Unless otherwise notified of specific occurrences, nighttime closures are as follows:

Overnight Detours for Manhattan-Bound Traffic
Friday night/Saturday morning Midnight* to 7 am
Monday - Thursday nights: 11 pm* to 6 am

* To allow traffic to clear before the reversal begins, the eastbound BQE exit onto the bridge closes 30 minutes earlier and other Brooklyn ramps onto the bridge shut down 5-15 minutes earlier.

Williamsburg Bridge

One of four lanes eastbound to Brooklyn will be closed Saturday from 6 am to 2 pm to facilitate NYCDOT bridge maintenance.

Brooklyn

Bridge Street between Fulton Street and Willoughby Street

This street will be closed from 6 am to 9 pm on Saturday and/or Sunday to facilitate crane operation.

Nevins Street between Livingston Street and Schermerhorn Street

This street will be closed from 7 am to 7 pm on Saturday and/or Sunday to facilitate crane operation.

Festivals, Parades and Events

Brooklyn West Cluster Parade

The following streets will be closed on Friday from 8 pm to 10:30 pm for the Brooklyn West Cluster Parade as permitted by the NYPD.

  • 65th Street between 16th Avenue and 18th Avenue
  • 18th Avenue between 65th Street and 75th Street
  • 75th Street (Bay Ridge Parkway) between 18th Avenue and 20th Avenue

Brooklyn/Queens

Grand Street Bridge over Newtown Creek

This street will be closed from 8 am to 1 pm on Saturday for NYCDOT bridge repair.

Queens

41st Avenue between Queens Plaza North and 29th Street

This street will be closed from 8 am to 6 pm on Saturday and/or Sunday to facilitate crane operation.

Long Island Expressway Lower Level at Brooklyn Queens Expressway Connection

Two lanes will be closed Westbound and one lane will be closed Eastbound from 11 pm Friday to 10 am Saturday and from 11 pm Saturday to 8 am Sunday by NYSDOT to facilitate paving.

Bronx

East 217th Street between Barnes Avenue and Bronxwood Avenue

This street will be closed from 8 am to 6 pm on Saturday and/or Sunday for crane operation.
