Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg attends the Olympic Truce Ceremony at the United Nations during the ATHENS 2004 Olympic Torch Relay. On February 27, 2004, the heads of the 201 National Olympic Committees from around the world reaffirmed their endorsement of the Olympic Truce initiative during their General Assembly that took place in Athens, Greece. Representatives of the diplomatic community and international organizations attended this unprecedented international program hosted at UN Headquarters.
