Mayor Bloomberg Flips Switch On First Tri-Generation Power Plant in NYC
Mayor Bloomberg today turned on the City's first tri-generation power plant
at Co-Op City in the Bronx, which is the result of a $65 million renovation.
The plant will use less fuel, cut carbon emissions and pollutants by 40%
and will result in between $15 million and $25 million in savings annually
to co-op residents.

of "Schoolyards to Playgrounds" Project for PlaNYC Goal of All
New Yorkers Living Within a Ten Minute Walk of a Park or Playground
Mayor Bloomberg and Parks & Recreation Commissioner Benepe today cut
the ribbon on P.S. 138's new $400,000 playground, part of the Mayor's PlaNYC
goal of ensuring that all New Yorkers live within a ten minute walk of a
park or playground. The playground is the first to be renovated through
the PlaNYC Schoolyards to Playgrounds program in which the City will invest
$111 million in funding for playground improvements and open 290 schoolyards
as playgrounds in underserved neighborhoods.

Mayor Bloomberg Announces New Weekend
Court Processing so Youth Who Present Low Risk to the Community Can Be Returned

Mayor Bloomberg today announced that beginning next month juvenile delinquency
arrests in New York City will be processed on weekends, a first for New
York State. Seven day per week juvenile processing, a standard already in
place for those 16 years old and above, will reduce detention time for youth
who can be safely released to the community and might otherwise be detained
for up to 48 hours or longer. High-risk youth will also have access to weekend
processing and a judge will determine whether detention is warranted.

and presented an updated four-year financial plan for New York City. The
$59.1 billion budget maintains the City's firm financial footing in the
near term by reining in expenditures across the city, with city-funded spending
