MAYOR'S YOUTH LEADERSHIP COUNCIL
The Mayor's Youth leadership Council (MYLC) is made up of a diverse group of 20 high school sophomores and juniors from across the five boroughs. The CORO New York Leadership Center, a nonprofit educational institution, is training these students in the areas of leadership development and policy research to the end that they will provide the Young Men's Initiative with a critical youth voice. The MYLC is serving as a vehicle for youth input into city policymaking and is creating a body of youth ambassadors to serve as liaisons to their peers and their communities. Most importantly, it involves young people as valued and active participants in city policies that shape their everyday lives.
