2001
The Sister City Program of the City of New York, Inc. (SCP) facilitated a meeting between Mr. Roland Hunter, CFO, Greater Johannesburg Metropolitan, and a NYC Chief Economist regarding proposals to implement new tax billing strategies for Johannesburg.
SCP facilitated the visit of a South African senior government official for the purpose of organizing a "New York City study tour" in the areas of development, planning and
local government.

2000
SCP intern traveled to South Africa to meet with local officials in Johannesburg and Cape Town to discuss program objectives and ideas.
SCP facilitated a meeting between the South African Vice Consul and the NYC Director of the Office of Management and Budget, for the purpose of discussing co-managing resource utilization.
The Consul General of the South African Consulate and Johannesburg officials were in daily communication with senior level NYC officials regarding upcoming local elections in South Africa.
SCP letter of invitation to form an official Sister City Partnership with New York City presented to Johannesburg Mayor Masondo by South African Consul General Thami Ngwevela.
Former SCP Executive Director, Henrietta Lyle traveled to Johannesburg to meet with Johannesburg officials, for the purpose of discussing the Sister City Program of the City of New York, Inc. and the potential for the two cities to partner.
