Volunteer Opportunities

The Mayor’s Office for International Affairs oversees the work of carefully selected and trained volunteers who provide personal outreach to the ever-changing members of the diplomatic community. The mission of the volunteers is to ensure that new arrivals learn about the practical services of the Office and feel more at home in this large city (one-third of New York's diplomatic community changes each year). New arrivals, many with families, are visited and given a special information kit about the City.  The members of the volunteer corps are of diverse backgrounds that wish to share the best of our City with its foreign guests and to make American goodwill a reality for them.
