	The DOE and Task Force initially selected a total of 25 schools to participate in pilot program in the 2010-2011 academic year, added an additional 25 schools for 2011-2012 school year, and in 2012-2013 is up to 100 participating schools. These schools were chosen on the basis of strong leadership, connection with a community-based organization in its neighborhood, and higher-than-average chronic absenteeism within their student bodies.
