All clean air taxis in New York City are marked with a “green NYC” logo. A clean air taxi has either a hybrid electric-gasoline engine or uses compressed natural gas (CNG).

Today, more than 12% of the city’s fleet of medallion taxicabs is hybrid-electric…more than any other city in the nation.  Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and TLC Commissioner/Chairman Matthew W. Daus recently announced an incentive program with the goal of building upon this impressive progress.
