If you would like to be considered a wheelchair accessible service provider, your vehicle(s) must be visually checked by TLC staff to confirm compliance with Rule 59B-17(C). To arrange an appointment for inspection please contact the Safety & Emissions unit of the NYC TLC located in Woodside, Queens at (718) 267-4591.
The New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission makes no representation or endorsement as to the service provided by the providers listed in the link above. As per rule 59B-17(C) effective October 31, 2001, a base owner shall be responsible for providing transportation service to persons with disabilities. A base owner may fulfill this requirement either by:
- dispatching an affiliated accessible vehicle, upon request;
or
- arranging for the dispatch of an accessible vehicle affiliated with another licensed base, upon request, if the base owner has entered into a contractual or other arrangement with such base for the provision of accessible vehicles to persons with disabilities.
