TLC’s Persistent Violator Program is designed to identify those drivers that do not follow important TLC rules ensuring safety and consumer protections. The Persistent Violator Program allows TLC to suspend a driver’s TLC license for up to 30 days after accumulating 6 or more TLC-issued Persistent Violator points in a 15-month period. Additionally, a driver’s TLC license will be revoked after accumulating 10 or more TLC-issued Persistent Violator points in a 15-month period.

If I receive a Persistent Violator summons, what must I do?
If you receive a Persistent Violator summons you will have to attend a TLC hearing. If you have not recently completed a Persistent Violator Refresher Course you may be able to take the course and reduce your Persistent Violator points by up to 3 points. See below for more information on eligibility to reduce persistent violator points.
How can I reduce my Persistent Violator point total?

The refresher course is 8 hours in total, which is split into two four- hour sessions. For additional information on how long the refresher course is, please refer to the Refresher Course Handout.
How much does it cost to take the Refresher Course?
A fee of $75 must be paid to the school of your choice. Please refer to the Refresher Course Handout for additional information.
