How do I let the TLC know that I recently moved?

To notify the TLC that you have moved you must Update your Information Online.

NOTE: 

  • Change of Address is not accepted by mail or in person

What do I need to do to have my TLC license replaced if it is lost or stolen or mutilated/damaged?

If your TLC license has been lost or stolen, you must obtain a replacement TLC credential. Instructions are available on the TLC Credential Replacement Instruction Handout.

What do I need to do to update my new name change on my TLC license?

For information on how to update your name on your TLC license please read the TLC Credential Replacement Instruction Handout.

You will need a completed and signed Request to Update TLC Credential Form.

What do I need to do to update my photo on my TLC license?

For information on how to update a photo on your TLC license please read the TLC Credential Replacement Instruction Handout.

You will need a completed and signed Request to Update TLC Credential Form when you arrive for your appointment.

What do I need to do if I no longer wish to be a TLC Licensed Driver?

To request to cancel your TLC Driver license, please submit the current license and a signed Affirmation to Cancel Active TLC Driver License in person or by mail to:

NOTE:
Requesting to cancel a TLC Driver License does not remove outstanding suspensions and/or summonses.  If you wish to reapply in the future, outstanding suspensions and/or summonses must be closed before you reapply.

I’ve received a notice of impending default judgement. What is it and what do I need to do?

An impending default judgment means you owe the TLC money.  You were issued a summons for operating illegally in NYC.  You were found guilty of this violation at a hearing.  If you did not attend your hearing, you were found guilty by default.

If you do not take further action, additional legal penalties may be imposed.

You have the following options:

  1. You can pay the money you owe:
    1. by Money Order made payable to NYCTLC mailed to:
    2. TLC Cashiers
      31‐00 47th Avenue
      3rd Floor
      LIC, NY 11101
      Please include your summons number, and a copy of the notice that was mailed to you

    3. on-line at https://www.nyc.gov/lars.

    4. in person with cash or money order payable to NYCTLC at the Cashier windows located at our LIC office. Please bring the notice that was mailed to you when you submit payment.

  2. You can apply to reopen your defaulted case at http://www.nyc.gov/html/oath/html/taxi-limousine/reopen-default.shtml.

  3. You can come to Long Island City TLC office and ask to speak to a Court Unit attorney.
