 Lists of Current TLC Licensees The data in the files listed below was last updated on 07/02/2009 and does not reflect any changes in license status since the prior business day. The lists below include those TLC licensees who ARE allowed to provide service as of the prior business day. Anyone NOT on these lists should NOT drive or be dispatched to drive unless their TLC license status is confirmed as current through the TLC Licensee Link system (a separate system that is not connected with these lists below) or 212 227 6324. The purpose of these lists is to offer general information to our licensees about their own license status, and that of their affiliates, and to ensure that only active licensees are providing service. Yellow Medallion Taxicabs are the official taxis of New York City. There are currently about 13,000 licensed taxicabs and they provide transportation for passengers via street hails.
