Documenting a service exchange

The Service Provider is responsible for recording the completed exchanges in the database. The Service Receiver will have the opportunity to verify the transfer of "time credits" via email or phone confirmation from TimeBanksNYC.

How to Document an Exchange

On the TimeBanksNYC database:

  1. Click on the "My Account" tab on the upper-right hand side of the screen.
  2. Click on the "Messages" tab on the left hand side of the screen and view "My Inbox".
  3. Locate the messages for the service you recently provided, and click on "Log Hours" under the "Latest Message" column.
  4. Input the date of the service and time credits earned.
  5. Click "Preview" and then click "Confirm".

The receiver of the service will then receive an email regarding the newly logged time and credits.

How to Edit Documented "Time Credits"

On the TimeBanksNYC database, the service receiver will:

  1. Click on the "My Account" tab on the upper-right hand side of the screen.
  2. Click on the "My Hours" tab and view the "View Activity" page.
  3. Locate the service you received under the heading "Time Dollars Spent" and then click the "Edit" under the "Hours" heading.
  4. If the amount of time credits recorded for the service is correct, click "Preview" and then click "Confirm".
  5. If the amount of time credits recorded for the service is incorrect, edit the time in the "Time Spent" box. Once the "Time Spent" has been corrected, click "Preview" and then click "Confirm". 

The provider of the service will receive an email noting that  there has been an edit to documented "Time Credits".
