Universities & Colleges
New York City has a number of prestigious colleges and universities throughout its five boroughs. The Sports Commission will act as an intermediary with these institutions to make sure your event hits the mark. Two noteworthy examples of excellent athletics facilities include Alumni Hall at St. John's University, the 6,000-seat home of the Red Storm basketball teams, and Wien Stadium at Columbia University, a 17,000 seat stadium that hosts international track and field competitions, as well as all Columbia football home games.

168th Street Armory
The recently renovated 168th Street Armory is equipped to handle major indoor events on its 6-lane 200-meter Mondo-surface track.

Non-Traditional Venues
Many less traditional sites throughout New York City can be transformed to create exciting and unusual venues. For example, the city boasts some of the finest parks--with facilities that can be converted to your advantage. During the Goodwill Games, Wollman Rink in Central Park was transformed into a 3,000-seat beach volleyball arena.

Teaming up with your event coordinator, the Sports Commission will explore all options to help you produce a stellar event. With all of our wonderful venues, New York City can cater to your needs and offer the most unique and exciting venue for your venture.
