The 2005 Mayor's Cup Softball Tournament

When: Qualifying Round - September 10, 2005
Finals – September 17, 2005
Where: Qualifying Locations – 5 Boroughs
Finals - Central Park

The Mayor’s Cup Softball Tournament was held under a new format this year as teams from across the five boroughs of New York City competed in one of four divisions: Co-ed open and slow pitch and Men's medium and slow pitch. Borough qualifiers took place at locations across the five boroughs on September 10th, with regional winners advancing to the finals on Saturday, September 18th in Central Park

The weather cooperated for this year’s event which culminated in four fantastic championship games played before a large gathering of supporters. In the Co-ed Medium Pitch Division, Brady’s upset last year’s Co-ed Finalist Airborn, while in the Co-ed Slow Pitch Division, 107th Hammers repeated as Champions for a third-consecutive year.

In the Men’s draw, newcomer Toolshed proved themselves against former-champs Posse, who were unable to repeat last year’s Mayor’s Cup win. In the Men’s Slow Pitch Final, Family Jewels secured the title.
