Start/Finish – Flushing Meadows Park - Queens |
The inaugural Tour de Queens treated riders of all ages and skill levels to a leisurely-paced, 20-mile ride through the borough. The ride began in Flushing Meadows Park and headed north towards LaGuardia Airport before turning west towards Queens Bridge Park. The primarily flat course traveled along waterfronts and greenways, through parks and into various industrial and historic neighborhoods.
A rest area set up at Queens Bridge Park allowed riders to rest and refuel before returning along the east river to Flushing Meadows Park. At the conclusion of the event, the Queens Museum of Art and Transportation Alternatives hosted a festival for all the participants with food, drinks, and entertainment.
