The Nike Super 6 Invitational will make its debut appearance at Fordham University’s Rose Hill Gym for a triple-header featuring the nation’s top boy’s high school basketball teams. In the opener, Paterson Catholic (NJ) will face Harlem’s Rice High School followed by New Jersey powerhouse St. Patrick squaring off against the two-time defending PSAL champion Lincoln High School (NY). In the finale, Thomas Jefferson High School (NY) will play nationally-ranked Hopkins High School (MN).

The triple-header gets under way at 5:00pm with Paterson Catholic facing Rice. Rice, currently ranked #14 by ESPN Rise, is led by 6’4” shooting guard Durand Scott who is widely considered one of the top 10 shooting guards in this year’s class. He has committed to playing for Coach Frank Haith at the University of Miami next year.

The second game, tipping off at 7:00pm, is the highlight game of the evening as Brooklyn’s Lincoln High School takes on NJ’s St. Patrick’s High School. Lincoln, fresh of its second consecutive PSAL championship, is led by junior star Lance Stephenson. Stephenson is considered as one of the top recruits in the nation. St. Patrick’s (#2) has star power of its own in point guard Derek Strickland, who has committed to playing at North Carolina next year, has led St. Patrick’s to #2 ranking.

In the final game of the evening, Hopkins High School will travel to NYC from Minnesota to take on Thomas Jefferson High School. Hopkins features a pair of players ranked in the Rivals.com Top 150 players of the Class of 2009. Hopkins guards Royce White and Trent Lockett have committed to play for Minnesota and Arizona State, respectively. Jefferson is led by a balanced attack and is considered to be a threat to dethrone Lincoln as PSAL champs.

Three of the six teams have competed in the invitational before. This is Rice High School's fifth year, and both St. Patrick's High School and Patterson Catholic High School have competed once before.
