Professional Bull Riders Versus Invitational
Date: January 4-6, 2008
Place: Madison Square Garden

Professional bull riding returned to Madison Square Garden to kick off the 2008 Built Ford Tough Series presented by Wrangler (BFTS). Valdiron de Oliveira (Brazil) earned the first BFTS title of his career by winning the VERSUS Invitational. Oliveira won the title after scoring an 89.75 in the final round and narrowly defeating the 2007 VERSUS Invitational champ J.B. Mauney (US).

Fellow Brazilian Guilherme Marchi rounded out the top three. As the VERSUS Invitational event winner, Valdiron de Oliveira has qualified for a chance to compete at the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals, against all of the other 2008 Built Ford Tough Series event winners, for $50,000 toward the purchase of a 2009 Ford Super Duty Truck. The Ford Super Duty Challenge contestant who finishes with the highest event aggregate during the 2008 PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals will win the Ford Super Duty Challenge.
