Where: Theater at Madison Square Garden

Over 14,000 fans watched undefeated Miguel Cotto defend his WBO junior welterweight title by winning a unanimous decision over previously unbeaten Paulie Malignaggi at Madison Square Garden. Cotto (27-0) dropped Malignaggi (21-1) in the second round and gave a solid performance in the 12-round fight for his sixth title defense. Two judges scored the match 116-111 while the third judge scored it 115-112--all in favor of Cotto.

On the undercard, Notre Dame football player Tommy Zbikowski (75-15) made a successful professional debut in the heavyweight division with a 49- second victory over Robert Bell. Zbikowski, who is a team captain and standout safety, dropped Bell 30 seconds into the bout, and later landed a devastating right hand before the referee stopped the contest.

Irish middleweight prospect John Duddy (17-0, 15 KOs) remained undefeated after defeating Freddie Cuevas in seven rounds. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (26-0-1, 20 KOs) also preserved his winning streak with a second-round win over Aaron Drake in a super lightweight bout.

In a crossroads junior lightweight bout, Bobby Pacquaio (27-11-3, 12 KOs) of the Philippines dropped former featherweight champ Kevin Kelley (58-7-2) twice en route to a surprising fourth-round knockout. Undefeated Puerto Rican featherweight prospect Juan Manuel Lopez (12-0) posted a six-round unanimous decision victory over previously undefeated Sergio Mendez of Mexico.
