Mayor’s Cup Indoor Track & Field Championship
What: Hall of Fame/Mayor’s Cup Challenge
When: Saturday, January 31, 2009
Where:: The New Balance Track & Field Center at the Armory

High school track and field athletes from New York City’s public, parochial and independent schools will gather to compete in the Hall of Fame/Mayor’s Cup Challenge at the Armory Track & Field Center. The top boys’ and girls’ teams with the most accumulated points will be crowned as our city’s best and will take home the coveted Mayor’s Cup.

Athletes will compete in a variety of different track events including runs, dashes and relays of different distances, including hurdles and shuttle runs. The field events will consist of shot put, high jump, long jump, triple jump, weight throw and jump relays.

Hall of Fame/Mayor’s Cup challenge was created through a partnership between the Armory Foundation, the New York City Sports Commission and the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation.
