Basketball Tournament
The nation's premier wheelchair basketball teams gathered in New York City to compete for the Mayor's Cup trophy in the 4th Annual Big Apple Mayor's Cup Wheelchair Basketball Tournament. The New York Rollin' Knicks captured their second Mayor's Cup, defeating the New England Blazers by a score of 62-54 in the championship game. Edwin Lopez of the EPVA New Jersey Nets was named the tournament's MVP after averaging over 25 points per game.

Edwin Lopez of the Eastern Paralyzed Veterans Association Nets was named the Tournament's Most Valuable Player. Lopez averaged 25 points per game including 32 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists in the consolation game.
Joe Bravo from the New York Rolling Knicks was awarded
the Tournament's Sportsmanship Award.

1 Dave Harrison from the New England Blazers. Harrison averaged 10 points per game.
2 Luis Dalmau from the Bulova NY Rolling Renegades. Dalmau had 23 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists in the consolation game.
3 Jerry Flemming from the NY Rolling Knicks. Fleming averaged 12.5 points per game, scoring 16 points with 20 rebounds in the championship game.
