The Jordan Brand All-American Classic, one of the nation’s most prestigious high school all-star basketball events, featured a national game showcasing the country’s top high school seniors, a regional game for the top prep players from the New York City metropolitan area and an international game featuring 16 of the top 17-and-under players from Europe, Asia and Africa. In the national game, Arizona recruit Brandon Jennings (10 points, 14 assists) and Memphis recruit Tyreke Evans (23 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists) earned Co-MVP honors as the Blue team defeated the White team by a score of 124-114.
Jennings’ 14 assists broke the event record previously held by Corey Fisher while his teammates Scotty Hopson (University Heights/Tennessee) and Demar DeRozan (Compton/USC) contributed 21 points and 17 points, respectively. Devin Ebanks added 20 points and 4 rebounds for the White team.
In the regional game, the Suburban team edged out the City team by a score of 129-127. Marcus Morris led the Suburban team with an impressive 20 point, 8 rebound performance, while the City team’s Ryan Pearson contributed an astonishing 36 points, 15 rebounds in the loss.
In the international game, the Black team defeated the White team by a score of 70-67 in an exciting overtime period. Peter Lambic of Serbia led the Black team with 20 points and 14 rebounds, while Enes Kanter of Turkey led the White team with 22 points and 17 rebounds.
A portion of the proceeds from this event benefited New York City-based charity The Children's Aid Society.
