New York Jets Season Recap
The 2007 New York Jets finished the season with a record of 4-12. Chad Pennington led the team to a disappointing 1-7 start and was eventually benched in favor of second-year quarterback Kellen Clemens. Clemens, selected in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft, withstood some inevitable growing pains and will have the opportunity to battle for the full-time starting job in 2008.
The Jets’ top two draft picks, cornerback Darrelle Revis and linebacker David Harris, showed they can be impact players on the team and should be staples of the Jets’ defense for years to come. Another bright spot on the team was newly acquired running back Thomas Jones who became the fifth player in Jets history to rush for 1,000 yards (1,119 yards). The Jets will have the sixth overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft in April, offering an opportunity to pick up another impact player to fill some of their needs and help them improve next season.
