Dear Friends:
Welcome to the New York City Sports
Commission's website. We are committed to attracting athletic events into the
Big Apple for the purpose of enhancing the City's economy and providing our
residents and visitors with the most exciting array of sports in the nation.
The Sports Commission was created in 1986 to foster the development of amateur
and professional sports throughout New York City.
Our web pages serve as a useful guide
to help you learn what's happening in the New York sports scene. You can search
through our calendar of events to find all of your favorite activities, enhance
your knowledge of NYC sports history or check out all of the fantastic venues
that NYC has to offer. I also invite you to contact us and offer your input.
As a sports fan, I am always interested to know what people are thinking about
our events and teams.
I am honored to have the opportunity
to serve all New Yorkers. It is a privilege to continue the fine tradition of
sports in New York City and to uphold the title of "Sports Capital of the World."
Sincerely,
Kenneth J. Podziba
Commissioner
