What: Easter Seals Walk With Me 5K
When: June 7, 2008, 10:00 a.m. check in; 11:30 a.m. start time
Where: Castle Clinton (Battery Park)

Runners, in-line skaters and walkers participated in the Easter Seals Walk With Me 5K to help raise awareness for people with disabilities. Food, music and entertainment were provided along the 5K course that began at Castle Clinton in Battery Park. On the day of the walk, participants were partnered with an Easter Seals Honorary Ambassador--a child or adult with a disability who has benefited from Easter Seals services.

Easter Seals Walk With Me creates hope within reach for people with disabilities. Easter Seals provides services to children and adults with disabilities as well as support to their families. Easter Seals benefits more than one million individuals and their families each year through one of 550 centers nationwide and has been in existence for more than 85 years. Whether helping someone improve physical mobility, return to work or simply gain greater independence for everyday living, Easter Seals offers a variety of services to help people with disabilities address life's challenges and achieve personal goals.

The money raised from the walk enables Easter Seals to increase disability awareness, improve health and wellness and encourage community participation.
