The Brooklyn Cyclones

The Brooklyn Cyclones - 2006

2006 Brooklyn Cyclones Season Preview

In 2005, the Cyclones missed the New York Penn League Playoffs for the first time since 2002 despite amassing a winning record (40-36). The Cyclones are hoping to return to the playoffs in 2006 under the direction of new manager George Greer, who begins his first season with Brooklyn after joining the Mets organization in the winter of 2005.

The Cyclones kick off the 2006 campaign in a home opener versus rival Staten Island Yankees on June 20th. In recent years, the team has benefited from the play of notable players such as current Mets starting pitcher Brian Bannister, a Penn League All-Star for the Cyclones in 2003.
