JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge Championship

Over 240,000 participants from five continents participated in the JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge, a 3.5-mile invitational race that brought together the winning male, female, and co-ed teams from each of the host cities of the JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge Series. Catherine Nkosi of Johannesburg’s (South Africa) Transnet Rail Engineering finished the race in 18:52 to take home the women’s title. On the men's side, Tshamano Setone finished the race in 16:03, to complete Transnet Rail Engineering’s sweep of the Championship titles.
Johannesburg’s Transnet Rail Engineering took home two team titles as the top men’s team and women’s team finishing the 3.5-mile race with an aggregate time of 1:05:46 and 1:16:30, respectively. Johannesburg, South Africa’s Transnet Rail Engineering team was dominant in this year’s race, with a total of seven runners in top five of the mens’ and womens’ races.
Runners from the 12 cities in six countries around the world competed in the 26th JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge Championship, an invitational race that brought together the winning male, female, and coed teams from each of the host cities of the JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge Series. The 3.5-mile race was the final race of the 15-city JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge Series. Teams qualified for the race by placing in the top 15% of the New York City races or finishing in the top 5 of any other Corporate Challenge Race.
The men’s, women’s and mixed teams that finished in the top 20-percent of the JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge Series received an invitation to the Championship. All participants had to enter as part of a corporate team.

Runners from corporations throughout the city participated in the JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge in an effort to raise money for the Central Park Conservancy. On day one of the event, Karl Dusen of AIG captured his third consecutive men's individual title and Kathleen Jobes of Rodale won the women's title. On day two, Matthew Forys of BlackRock crossed the finish line first in the men’s race, while Caitlin Tormey of Christies Inc. took home the women’s title.
The second day of the race was also marked by a belated Super Bowl celebration. New York Giants’ defensive end Justin Tuck and Giants co-owner Steve Tisch were on hand to speak at the event and to greet Forys as he broke the tape at the finish line.
The 3.5-mile JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge returned to Central Park for its 32nd season. 30,000 runners competed in the two-day New York event, which serves as one of the qualifiers for the Chase Corporate Challenge Championship that will take place later in the year.
Both days featured sold out fields of 15,000 runners. Over 750,000 people throughout Metropolitan New York have participated in this event since its debut in 1977.
About the JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge Series
Over 200,000 runners representing 7,000 companies from all over the globe are expected to take part in this series of 3.5 mile races that will span twelve cities, six countries and five continents. The men’s, women’s and mixed teams that finish in the top 20% receive an invitation to the Championship at the end of the year. All participants have to enter as part of a corporate team. Winning runners and teams receive a $500 donation to the charities of their choice. Proceeds from the event benefit the Central Park Conservancy.
