Some play for the competition, some for the enjoyment and some as their
way of maintaining good health. For many people who have a disability,
Casa Colina Adaptive Sports provides not only a springboard to become
involved in sports activities, but also the incentive to power through
personal barriers to higher levels of productivity and achievement in
other parts of life.
Casa Colina Adaptive Sports brings these benefits within the reach of
individuals with a disability:

The range of adaptive sports is constantly expanding both in the number
of sports available and the skill level at which the sport is played.
Casa Colina provides activities for people at every level of ability from
the introductory, casual level, through recreational competition, to the
highly competitive play of nationally ranked teams. Casa Colina team
members have been selected as members of winning Paralympic teams in
wheelchair basketball and downhill skiing. The current range of
competitive sports includes:
Wheelchair Basketball, Division I, The Condors, winner of nine national championships since 1982
Wheelchair Basketball, Women's Division, The Shooting Stars, winner of two national championships
Wheelchair Basketball, Division II, The Rolling Bears
Quad Rugby, The Buccaneers
Power Soccer, The Casa Colina Crushers
Tennis, with both national tournament level competitors and weekly classes for all levels of players
Wheelchair Hockey, The Crush, Eastland Cup winners three years in a row, and the Riptide.
Wheelchair Football, The Casa Colina Team, Blister Bowl Winner two years in a row
In addition, Casa Colina Adaptive Sports puts on the Annual Land Meets Sea Sports Camp in Long Beach. This is a
five-day event at which experienced players share their expertise with
campers in a range of land and sea activities included water skiing, jet
skiing, introduction to SCUBA, basketball, hockey, rugby, power soccer,
tennis and an expanded two-day kids camp. This event draws participants
not only from Southern California but from across the nation.
