Big Apple High School Basketball Challenge
What: Big Apple Basketball High School Challenge
When: December 13 & 14, 2008
Where:: 12/13 – St. John's University; 12/14 – Baruch College

High school basketball teams from the Public School Athletic League (PSAL) will square off against teams from the Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) in the Big Apple Basketball High School Challenge at St. John’s University and Baruch College. Both leagues boast some of the nation's best high school boy's basketball players including O.D. Anosike (St. Peter’s), Chaz Williams (Bishop Ford) and Jayvaughn Pinkston (Bishop Laughlin).

Saturday’s action will feature defending CHSAA city champion Holy Cross of Queens in a match-up with Thurgood Marshall (PSAL) of Manhattan. The tournament will help decide which league is the best in the 2008-09 season -- the CHSAA or the PSAL.

3:30pm – Thomas Edison (PSAL-Queens) vs. Xaverian (CHSAA-Brooklyn)
5:15pm – Forest Hills (PSAL-Queens) vs. Bishop Ford (CHSAA-Brooklyn)
7pm – Thomas Jefferson (PSAL-Brooklyn) vs. Bishop Loughlin (CHSAA-Brooklyn)
