As Special Narcotics Prosecutor, I am committed to promoting public safety in our vibrant and diverse city. The presence of illegal drugs in neighborhoods has a destabilizing and often devastating impact on the security and well-being of residents. Where there is drug activity, violence inevitably follows. We are dedicated to addressing narcotics trafficking wherever we find it and to building strong, healthy communities. Our efforts can only succeed with the support of the citizens my office serves. New Yorkers can help us put drug dealers out of business and prevent them from preying on vulnerable people in our neighborhoods. Together we can reduce demand by increasing public awareness of the dangers of drugs. My office has been a leader in offering addicted offenders alternatives to incarceration through drug treatment programs for more than 20 years.
