Community Board #1 Urges North Shore Youth to Submit Photos for Website Contest

Staten Island, New York - Community Board # 1 of Staten Island is urging North Shore youths between ages 5-18 to submit photos to be placed on its new website - www.nyc.gov/sicb1.

"One of the reasons we developed the website was to highlight what is best about the North Shore of Staten Island," said Sean Sweeney, Chairman of Community Board #1.  "We have a talented pool of young people in our area and we want to give them an opportunity to show the world how their neighborhood looks through their own eyes."

Young people are encouraged to send their photographs, via email - sicb1@si.rr.com, to the Community Board for consideration.  Each month the board's Youth Committee will choose a photo to be placed on its website along with the young person's name.  For complete details of the contest, please sign on to the website and click "Photos" then "Youth Photo Contest".  All photos must be in jpeg format and be accompanied by a release form. 

"I'm very excited that our young people will be participating in the content of our website," said Larry Beslow, Chairman of the Youth Committee.  "We want this contest to be a positive outlet for their energy, vision and creativity."
