Leticia Maria Remauro
Leticia Remauro serves as the Vice President for
Community Relations and Intergovernmental for the Hugh L. Carey Battery Park
City Authority, a unique, 92-acre planned community located on Manhattan's lower
west side across from the former World Trade Center. In her capacity as
Vice President, Ms. Remauro oversees the communications of the Authority as well
as ensures that minority and women owned businesses have the opportunity to work
on projects relating to the Authority.
Prior to joining the Battery Park City Authority, Ms.
Remauro served as community liaison in New York City to - first - Mayor Rudolph
Giuliani, then Governor George E. Pataki. Through her work, Ms. Remauro
was able to witness historic legislation such as the closing of the Fresh Kills
Landfill and the purchase and preservation of environmentally sensitive
properties such as Mount Loretto and Saint Francis Friary in Staten Island.
Prior to entering government service, Ms. Remauro was
the owner/operator of a small family restaurant in Staten Island.
Ms. Remauro is trained in cultural diversity, community
and business affairs as well as emergency management. She currently serves
as Chair of Community Board 1 in Staten Island. Her past community service
includes membership on the boards of: The American Red Cross of Greater New
York, The Staten Island Institute of Arts and Sciences, the New York State
Junior Chamber of Commerce, The Community Resources Training Services Board of
South Beach Psychiatric Center and the New York City Increase the Peace
Volunteer Corps.
Ms. Remauro is the recipient of numerous awards
including the Professional Women in Construction 2007 Woman of Achievement
Award; the Associated Minority Enterprises of New York 2006 Public Service
Advocate Award and the New York City 1993 Peace Keeper Award.
Ms. Remauro is the author of the novel, "Patric's Saga"
published by IUniverse.
Ms. Remauro is a resident of Castleton Corners, Staten
Island.
