    ROSE RODRIGUEZ

 

Rose Rodriguez was recently appointed as the Special Assistant for Workforce Solutions and Small Business Services at the New York State Department of Labor assisting the Commissioner of Labor, the Executive Deputy Secretary and Special Counsel in directing the operational management of the department and helping to coordinate activities that cross operational programs. She is directly responsible for planning, directing, monitoring and evaluating the activities of the Division of Employment and Workforce solutions.

Ms. Rodriguez has approximately two decades of experience working with government and the non-profit community. Most recently, she served as Vice President to the non-profit organization, The Committee for Hispanic Children and Families, Inc., helping to implement their 5 year strategic plan; and in 2009, Ms. Rodriguez served in Mayor Michael Bloomberg's re-election campaign as the Director of Latino Outreach. Prior to the Mayoral campaign, she served in several senior level public service positions at the state and federal levels. She has served as U.S. Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton's Senior Advisor and Director of Constituent Affairs where she built and managed the Constituent Services Department, recognized as one of the best Senatorial constituent services operations in the country; and was a Clinton Presidential White House Political Appointee in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development under Secretary Andrew Cuomo. In 1993, she was appointed by Governor Mario M. Cuomo as the Executive Director of the New York State Governor's Office for Hispanic Affairs and Chairperson of the Governor’s Hispanic Advisory Committee.

Ms. Rodriguez has been the recipient of numerous awards and recognition for her work in government and years of public service. She holds a Juris Doctor degree from Fordham University School of Law, and was the recipient of the prestigious Philip D. Reed Scholarship, served as a Stein Public Interest Law Scholar and on the Fordham Urban Law Journal.  She received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Fordham University and a Master’s Degree in Political Management from the Graduate School of Political Management’s first graduating class at Baruch College. She resides in the Riverdale section of the Bronx.
