About the Provider Report Card
The New York City
Department of Small Business Services (SBS) encourages jobseekers to conduct
thorough and independent research on all potential training options in high
demand occupations before deciding upon a specific course or program of
courses. The Report Card, which is available on the NYC Training Guide (www.nyc.gov/trainingguide), helps
jobseekers and career advisors to make accurate and well-informed decisions when
searching for the most appropriate training course or program leading to a
job.
Training Provider Performance Requirements
Eligible
Training Providers must be licensed by the appropriate New York State licensing
body and must be in good standing on the Eligible Training Provider List
(ETPL).
Training Providers who receive Individual Training Grant vouchers will be
evaluated for Report Card performance in order to continue to be eligible for
ITG vouchers. Each course evaluated is expected to achieve a completion rate of
75%, based on the number of jobseekers who were projected to complete during the
evaluation period, and a job placement rate of 50%, based on the number of
unemployed jobseekers who were active in training and projected to complete
during the evaluation period.
Monthly evaluations add up every 6 months to the official Report Card. For
each course that receives 5 or more vouchers within the 6 month period the final
score is displayed on the Training Guide. If a training provider does not meet
the 75% completion and 50% placement will be ineligible to receive vouchers for
a period of six months where the course will display a "Failed Report Card"
stamp on the NYC Training Guide.
This information is publicly available in the NYC Training Guide at www.nyc.gov/trainingguide. The NYC
Training Guide is an interactive, searchable database of courses with enhanced
performance data at the individual course level. Users can search the database
and compare similar training options to find the course(s) that best match their
occupational goals.
