	In 2003, Mayor Bloomberg consolidated New York City’s adult workforce programs with the Department of Small Business Services to link workforce development and economic development. The City adopted a demand-driven system, partnered with strong organizations and held them accountable, upgraded technology to increase efficiency and enable innovation, and maintained a professional environment in our growing network of Workforce1 Career Centers.
