Young Ambassadors Program

The Young Ambassadors Program is a youth partnership program between the New York City Commission for the United Nations, Consular Corps, and Protocol and the 17th Precinct of the New York City Police Department. The program is open to high school students in the diplomatic, consular, and 17th Precinct communities, including students who either live or attend high school in the 17th Precinct.

The Young Ambassadors Program offers students the opportunity to take advantage of all that New York City offers as "Capital of the World," while making friends from around the world.

The program creates a friendly atmosphere in which students from these diverse communities feel comfortable interacting with each other while visiting cultural landmarks and sharing experiences alongside staff from the Commission and the 17th Precinct.

The program consists of excursions to cultural and historical sites, which are planned and led by Commission staff and members of the 17th Precinct. Past trips include the Hayden Planetarium at the Museum of Natural History, New York Hall of Science, Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum, New York Stock Exchange, Bronx Zoo, New York Aquarium, and the New York Capitol Building in Albany.

For more information about the Young Ambassadors Program, please call the New York City Commission, for the United Nations, Consular Corps, and Protocol at 212-319-9300.
