Society of Foreign Consuls

The Commission serves as special advisor to the Society of Foreign Consuls in New York, a professional organization for consular officers in the City. Organized in 1925, the Society exists to maintain and foster positive relationships within the consular community and between the Consular Corps and the City of New York. On June 9, 1999, the Society held its annual Consular Ball, donating all proceeds to the Special Olympics, a charitable organization that promotes athletics for physically challenged children around the world.

On Wednesday, June 6, 2001, the Society is pleased to announce the Second Night for the Children Gala, to benefit the children's programs of CARE and the Nelson Mandela foundation. The event will be held at Pier Sixty in Manhattan, New York City.
