New York City is proud to be thought of as "The Capital of the World," and the New York City Commission for the United Nations, Consular Corps and Protocol serves as the official liaison between the Office of the Mayor (and all City Agencies) and the United Nations, as well as the 189 Permanent Missions and 100 Consulates in New York City. As host city to the United Nations headquarters and the world's largest diplomatic and consular community, the Commission's main purpose is to facilitate a good working relationship between the City and the diplomatic and consular community. The Commission is the primary liaison to the United States Department of State and works closely with other federal, state and local government agencies. The Commission is comprised of four divisions (Diplomatic and Consular Affairs, International Business, Office for Protocol, and the Sister Cities Program). Under Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani's leadership, we have built a dynamic resource that provides information, assistance and service to the international community, businesses and residents of New York City, and all City Agencies. The New York City Commission for the United Nations, Consular Corps and Protocol is dedicated to assisting members of the diplomatic and consular community, making their time spent in New York productive and enjoyable on both a professional and personal level. We hope that you find our Website useful. We welcome all inquiries regarding any of our services. Please direct your questions or comments to the Commission. |
