Working with the Mayor’s Office of Housing Recovery Operations (HRO), the New York City of Departments of Environmental Protection (DEP) and Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) are repairing or rebuilding one-to-four family and multi-family properties that were damaged by Hurricane Sandy.

General Contractors interested in providing construction services for the Rebuild Program: If you are a general contractor and have already been contacted by a homeowner who is participating in the Rebuild Choose Your Own Contractor (CYOC) Program, please click here for a basic overview of the Rebuild Program.

General Contractors interested in seeing the standard scope of work and specifications for the Multi-Family Repair program, please click here. Contractors selected to work with this program will be required to go through HPD’s Sponsor Review process.  For more information click here.

Multi-Family Program Seeking Qualified General Contractors

The Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) and the Community Preservation Corporation (CPC) have released a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) seeking General Contractors qualified to do federally funded work on multi-family buildings in New York City. Build It Back's Multi-Family Program is establishing a list of qualified contractors, based on qualifications submitted through this RFQ process. The owners of the affected properties generally will be required to use a bidding process to select contractors.
