On Track? Ensuring Clean Subway Stations Citywide
While subway fares have increased in recent years, New Yorkers have witnessed a decline in service and maintenance in subway system. An investigation by the New York City Council Committee on Oversight and Investigations finds that most subway stations surveyed were rated as dirty, and stations in the poorest neighborhoods were the dirtiest. If left to accumulate, minor dirt can lead to major problems later, increasing the cost of repairs, the risk of rider injury and even crime.

Fulton Street Corridor Enhancement
Fulton Street is a major east-west commercial street in Brooklyn, serving the communities of Fort Greene and Bedford-Stuyvesant. It cuts across the street grid, resulting in the formation of irregular intersections. This creates problems for pedestrians, buses, trucks and general traffic. DOT developed improvements for a 1.7 mile segment of Fulton Street between Flatbush and Nostrand Avenues.
