|  Queens Community Board No. 9 plays a vital role in many ongoing projects in the area of Queens it serves. Issues of land use, budgeting, and community concerns go hand in hand with efforts to improve the community and preserve its history and heritage. Current projects of Commuinity Board No. 9 include efforts to restore and preserve the statue "Civic Virtue," to support the growth of local greenways and historic districts, and to monitor local rezoning to keep parity with the existing environment.
