Our office has received notification that the waiting list for HUD assisted rentals at Marine Terrace will soon be opened.  Applications for two bedroom apartments, beginning May 29 and ending May 31^st only must be picked up in person at the management office between the hours of 10am to 3pm.  If you have a disability or need assistance filing out the form call 718 726.9614.  The office is located at 20-24  21 St.   The applications chosen, by lottery, will go on  waiting list for an apartment, when available.   Applications will not be distributed prior to May 29 and completed applications must be postmarked no later than June 21, 2013.

Residents with disabilities living within Community Board 1, (Astoria) and Community Board 18, (Canarsie/Flatlands) are eligible to participate in a pilot program being administered by the Department for the Aging (DFTA) and the Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities (MOPD).

Persons with a disability can enroll in the "Taxi Smart Card" program.  This program enables the rider to utilize a taxi cab or livery service for transport as an alternative to Access-A-Ride.  Participants will contribute $12.50 and the City will contribute $87.50 for a total of $100.00.  The card can be refilled four (4) addition times.  Additional information can be obtained by calling DFTA at 212 442-3026 or go to www.nyc.gov/aging.
