The business of the New York City Department of Probation (DOP) is helping to build stronger and safer communities by supervising people on probation and fostering opportunities for them to move out of the criminal justice system through meaningful education, employment, health services, family engagement, and community participation. The Department of Citywide Administration Services (DCAS) has the most up-to-date information on obtaining employment with the City of New York.   2. Apply Online for the Exam (8001 PROBATION OFFICER)
  3. For more information about payments and fee waivers for this exam please contact DCAS directly at (212) 669-1357 or walk into the testing centers for more information. If you do not have access to a computer or the Internet, you may complete an application at one of the DCAS Computer-based Testing & Applications Centers (2 Lafayette St., 17th Floor in lower Manhattan, 210 Joralemon St., 4th Floor in downtown Brooklyn, 118-35 Queens Boulevard, 5th Floor in Queens.)
