The New York City Department of Small Business Services partnered with City Council Members Inez E. Dickens and Larry Seabrook to host a forum on How to Benefit from Stimulus Funding.  The workshop gave over 100 minority and women-owned businesses and community and trade organizations an overview of the City capital projects that will be funded via the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

The forum included an overview of the City’s allocation of stimulus funds, how to access the new online NYC Stimulus Tracker, a review of the federal Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program and certification process, as well as upcoming subcontracting opportunities on city and state contracts.  The workshop was facilitated by Small Business Services and included participants from the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Operations, the Mayor’s Offices of Contract Services and Operations, the New York City Department of Transportation, New York City Department of Environmental Protection, New York City Housing Authority, New York State Department of Transportation, Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and Port Authority of New York & New Jersey.
