Evan Korn
Executive Director
Evan Korn is the Executive Director for the Mayor's Office of Citywide Event Coordination and Management. In this capacity, Korn advises the Mayor on policy, planning, and operational matters common to the permitting, coordination, and implementation of street events and other activities in public spaces. Prior to his appointment, Korn served at the City's Department of Transportation, from 2001 to 2007, as Deputy Manhattan Borough Commissioner, and later as Assistant Commissioner for the Special Event and Emergency Response divisions. From 1998 to 2001, Korn served in the Mayor's Community Assistance Unit, serving as Senior Queens Borough Liaison, and later as Special Assistant to the Commissioner and Director of Special Projects. He played a key role in
the development and day-to-day operational management of the City's Family Assistance Center, which provided programmatic and legal assistance to the families of the victims of the 9-11 attacks. Korn is a graduate of SUNY Old Westbury and holds several graduate level certificates in Transportation Management and Emergency Response.
